Book Presentation: The Accounting Paradox – Barcelona4Impact

A conversation about how to transform accounting and redefine profit in order to move toward a more sustainable and equitable economy

👀 What is the event about?

This time, we’ll be taking part in Barcelona4Impact—a week-long event that brings together universities, entrepreneurs, investors, public institutions, and innovation hubs around a shared conviction: the economy can (and must) function differently so that people and the planet can thrive.

As part of this initiative, we are collaborating with ESIMPACT—an association dedicated to disseminating and generating knowledge about the measurement and management of social impact—and Impact Hub Barcelona to host the presentation of *The Accounting Paradox: How Financial Accounting Is Damaging the World (But Can Help Repair It)*, the new book by Jeremy Nicholls, an international leader in the measurement of social value.

In his book, Jeremy explores how the way we define profit shapes what markets reward, and why rethinking accounting systems is key to moving toward a more sustainable and equitable economy.

The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Jeremy Nicholls, Ramón López Roldán, Head of Consultancy & Projects at Impact Hub Barcelona, and Arnau Pontín Martínez, a researcher at ESADE, to spark a conversation about the role of accounting and impact measurement in transforming economic models.

The event is part of True & Fair, the global campaign launched by Social Value International in partnership with ESIMPACT.

🗣️ The event will be held in English.
